Thank you to our TOBFC Global Family for making our 16th Annual Gala the most successful gala yet! Together we raised a net total of C$75,800, exceeding last year’s amount by just over $1,700.
Plus, Vaughan Mayor Steven Del Duca presented a cheque at the gala for $10,000 from the Spirit of Generosity. This donation will support the operation of TOBFC's KICKIT Mobile Libraries program, serving 20 communities and 4,000 students every week. Deborah McCracken-Nangereke thanked Mayor Del Duca by presenting him with a book from Tanzania for the City of Vaughan Libraries collection.
Our 2024 grand total including the Spirit of Generosity donation is a record-breaking C$85,800!
All of these funds will go directly to support TOBFC programs and services in Tanzania.

The theme of the 2024 Gala was about the importance of strong roots. During her keynote address, founder Deborah McCracken-Nangereke described how TOBFC programs provide roots that transform lives by enabling individuals to grow and thrive. Deborah also discussed how her roots in Vaughan continue to provide incredible support to TOBFC.
Our MC for the evening Rob Pagetto flawlessly guided us through a fun-filled night that included a professional photo booth with a choice of Tanzanian backgrounds, painting messages of love for Tanzania, dancing, and a 3D virtual reality tour of TOBFC programs. For every ticket purchased, TOBFC is planting one tree in Tanzania to demonstrate our commitment to strong roots, which is now being matched by the Tanzanian Regional government.
