Thank you US Embassy's Community Grant Program

TOBFC has selected 5 villages to receive 100 trees each (a mix of fruit and indigenous shade trees) to greenify deforested and over farmed areas.

The fruit trees will be planted as a income generating project for these villages to raise funds for much needed community social projects. The shade trees will be planted around the villages including Primary and Secondary Schools, Dispensaries and other highly populated community locations.

The new KICKIT Mobile Library books complement our fresh greenification initiatives by providing young people with the resources to learn about the environment and the importance of trees. The shade trees planted around the community will be incorporated into environmental study lessons at our Montessori Kindergartens, as well as, the government Primary schools in the area.

Pictured here is one of the first shade trees being planted and watered by Primary School Students.
